| Step | Description | Details |
| 1 | Voter registration![]() |
What is your state? Identify a state website link to verify your voter registration status. (Click here) Are you a registered Republican? What is your County? What is your Precinct/Election District (ED)? (Suffolk, NY Sample) This is the geographic area (neighborhood) you live in. |
| 2 | Primary vs. Caucus![]() |
What method does your state/county use to select committee members? Primary or Caucus? Most states use Primary. (Click here or here) The Primary Method requires a petition with signatures and possible primary election with secret ballots. The Caucus Method is public with a live meeting, possible debates, less formal voting such as show of hands. The methods can vary but both require the support of eligible registered voters. Make contact; build relationships. |
| 3 | Precinct Project USA![]() |
Steve Stern and his team are developing a coalition of state/county leaders to help you navigate the process. Visit their website at https://precinctprojectusa.org/. Click on Regions and connect with them. |
| 4 | County GOP![]() |
Identify the website link for your County Republican Party (GOP). Register with their mailing list or fill out a Volunteer form. Call them. Indicate that you would like to be more involved. Ask to attend the next meeting. If you meet with resistance, don’t give up! There are alternatives. |
