Phase IV – Recruit

Talk to your neighbors, friends and family to educate and gather support.
Many are unaware of how Committee Membership works.
It’s about “We the People” in control of our government and true representation!

Step Description Detail
1 Identify new candidates Network. Observe, research and identify candidates for committee members. Relatives, friends, co-workers, neighbors, acquaintenances. Even social media posts from people you don’t know but are like-minded.
SPREAD THE WORD! Comment on social media posts. Copy and paste the following:
“Become a Committee Member! https://precinctprojectusa.org/
You may have to step outside your comfort zone and be more social. In conversations, see if you can detect if someone has personality traits that indicate a conservative, America first mindset. Make a list of potential leads (persons, locations, local organizations, other) that can be considered/pursued. Try your local civic association or John Birch Society chapter.
2 Ice breaker: ask questions Ice breaker: Ask questions.
“Do you know your precinct/election district?”
“Do you know about committee members?”
“When you vote in an election and you chose a candidate on the ballot, do you know how that name got on the ballot?”
3 Inform, educate Inform, educate The concept: There are supposed to be two (2) representatives within every precinct/election district. The committee members represent their community/neighborhood.
The purpose: A representative government by the people.
The problem: The public is uninformed. There are vacancies.
Other: Clandestine and selective process, proxy votes that consolidate power.
The solution: People need to be informed and aware of committee membership, how it works and get involved at the local level.
The power: You can be a committee member, have a voice and make a difference.
The benefits: Attend committee meetings to nominate party leaders and candidates running for office that will represent you and your community.
4 Guidance 1. Tell (or show) others what actions to take: Verify their voter registration. (Phase I)
2. Contact their County GOP, committee member, ask to go to a meeting (Phase I Step 3).
3. Provide a handout.
4. Tell them to go to this website, PrecinctStrategy.us and PrecinctStrategy.com and PrecinctProjectUSA.org for more information (it will be in the handout).
5. Exchange contact information to stay in touch. Provide your phone number/contact info in handout.
